Who am I?
I’m Anneliese, a UX/UI designer based in Ontario, Canada.
I’ve been in the design industry for over 12 years, with 7 of them being in the UX/UI space. What started as a love for bridging the gap between a client and their customers, has evolved into a passion for making web and product experiences as delightful as possible for end users.
By day, I’ve honed my skills through small design studios (Lesley Warren Design Studio), digital publishing companies (Concourse Media, now System1), health insurance (Manulife), and eventually found my way to SaaS (Vidyard and Hootsuite) where I currently focus my craft. I love to solve puzzles and am never one to shy away from a challenge. I truly believe that having a user-first approach in everything I do empowers design decisions through empathy and collaboration. That and it doesn’t hurt to have great relationships with my fellow developers and project managers too.
I’m currently working as a Senior UX/UI designer and have had incredible opportunities to work on full web properties, brand projects, and product platforms. In 2019, I even won the RGD In-House Design Award for my work on Vidyard’s 2020 Company Kick-off event.
When I’m off the clock, I spend my evenings and weekends writing stories and creating fantastical characters as the artist behind Arcasian. It’s definitely different from my design work, but being a small business owner gives me tangible insight into what’s important to people at the ground level.
Whether it’s through my designs or my artwork, creativity and storytelling are at the heart of what I do.
